I was deeply disappointed by this wine and am frankly dumbfounded how it ever got a high rating (e.g. >90). It tastes like d"Arenberg actually added additional alcohol to this wine. This "boozy" wine fails to soften even after allowing it to breathe for nearly an hour. In short, this grenache tastes like a bargain bin marked-for-clearance bottle of wine and is not worth the $25 price tag. Save your money and look elsewhere if you want a good grenache.
This grenache was the driest I've ever tasted. It's hardly "smooth and supple" as someone at wine.com has suggested. Rather, this wine immediately dries your entire mouth and when you swallow there's little to remember. All traces vanish instantly leaving you wondering what the heck just happened. I'm used to a full-bodied, fruity grenache but the Vinos Sin-Ley Puntazo 2007 left little to be desired and was, in short, patently unremarkable.
Even though I only paid about $15 for this wine, I regret it. Not enjoyable at all no matter what I tried. I let it breathe for an hour and I also tried using my Vinturi to no avail. Like a previous reviewer said, there are much better choices at this price point or in the sub $20 price range.
Superb wine and an outstanding value. I will definitely buy this again!
