Fruity & Smooth
Light and fruity, yet dry enough to enhance any seafood dish. Would pair well with swordfish or sauteed trout. Agree with the ratings in the low 90s.
Rich & Creamy
Disappointing. Lacked flavor, depth or complexity. To much minerality.
The Veramonte Primus 2005 is highly rated by Wine & Spirits and Wine News. The high ratings are undeserved. With a decent nose, the wine displays a sourness at mid-palate with a harsh tar-like finish. It left no positive impression. A wine to forget!
Good fruit. Robust, but not overpowering. Subtle tannins. Great selection at the price.
Fruity but without depth or complexity. A little too much like prune juice.
This wine was good, but the herbaceousness was too strong - it overwhelmed the wines other qualities. Good acidity.
A very good white wine! As touted, the hints of apricot are obvious along with a floral background and clear mineral presence. Refreshing. An outstanding pairing with light seafood dishes. The Wine Spectator 91 score is well deserved.
A good hearty red with a lack of complexity. Decent fruit and a velvety finish. Solid in its class.
Inky with a heavy licorice taste. Sour on the back of the palate. When the label boasts "nuances of leather," is that a good thing?
Fruity, with citrus-like flavors. Light, dry, but not excessively so. There is a slight mineral note.
