Don't waste your money on this wine. Enough said! On the nose it seems like a good gamay with that banana aroma but that doesn't live up to the way it tastes. It has bitterness that you do not want to have in your wine. There is absolutely no way this could be rated 93. I would give it 74 pts. Avoid if possible.

Color, this wine has a seductive ruby red color. Nose, this is really a fruit bomb, very powerful. There a LOT of black fruits going on here. Blackberry, black licorice, wild berry, toasty oak, some heat coming through, spices and there is a hint of vanilla from the oak. Midpalate, there is a heat component here, big and bold, full bodied, fills the mouth, toasty oak is still vibrant here (but not over the top). Finish, this wine has a pleasant long finish, smooth firm tannins, seductive sexy layers of black fruits dancing on my palate, black licorice, vanilla from the oak is still vibrant. This is indeed a classic california napa valley cab. Bottled at 15.4%. It is very well made and balanced. Even though it is still a baby now, it is still approachable. This wine shows that it has potential. It will easily age for 13 to 17 years. Good job, Caymus! This is a wine that you would pare with semi firm cheese and very good quality steaks. I am 93+ on this effort. You must seek it out. Happy drinking!

This is a good bottle of wine. It is not very good or excellent. It is not worth the $70. I would say this is a $20 bottle of wine. Flavors are hidden and just a little bit of tannin. For $70 you would be able to get much better wine. I am 88 on this effort. Happy drinking!

Actually, 3.9 stars. Color, this sauternes has a nice, deep, golden color, very appealing. On the nose, very complex, dried apricot, caramel, honey, classic nose! Midpalate, oil think, full bodied, dried apricot and honey are interacting harmoniously, it completely covers my tongue. Finish, very smooth, textured, nice complexity, lingering in the mouth (50+ seconds), round, and well balanced. Overall, this sauternes is very well made. It has a lot of potential. It is young and has not peaked yet. I'd recommend you put it away for 40 even 60 more years! It will only get better over time. I am 93+ on this effort now. I can see it as 95 pointer in 30+ years from now. Happy drinking!

Actually 3.4 stars. Color, this sparkling wine has a nice fresh color, very appealing for the price. On the nose, some apricots, nice floral aromas, decent quality cava. midpalate, very acidic, smooth, palate refreshing, some topical fruits coming through. Finish, nice acidity, considerably lingering in the mouth, still some tropical fruits coming through, very vibrant cava, balanced. Overall, this cava is decently made, not very wow!, for the price you're paying, this is a nice pottle that you'd like to invest in to expand your palate. Good, not bad effort. I am 87+ points on this effort. Happy drinking!

Actually, 4.4 stars. Color, this port has a nice, dense, a little bit aged color. On the nose, a lot of dried black fruits, dried raisins, some floral aromas coming through, a little (very little) hint of alcohol, but dried fruits are dominating in here, seductive. Midpalate, dried fruits still vibrant and dominating, black fruits coming through, full bodied, nice sweetness, blue berries. Finish, very smooth, dense, nice extremely smooth tannins, lingering in the mouth, textured, and very fine complexity, very balanced, very (sophisticated) finish, especially if you are having a fine cigar. Overall, this port is very well made. It will easily age for 50 to 60 years. However, if you're drinking it now, you indeed need to decant it for at least 2 days! Yes, two days! I am 95 on this effort. I can see it 96 after 25 years from now. Happy drinking!

Actually, 2.5+ stars. Color, this wine lacks that (sauvignon-blancy) color. It is cloudy, not very clear, almost seems like unfiltered, not very appealing color. On the nose, a LOT of carrots dominating, yes carrots! Also there is some apricot that is still vibrant in here, some barnyard smell, yes! There are also some eucalyptus and some (weird) flours, grassiness, some minerality, a little bit awkward for sauvignon blanc! Midpalate, barnyardy!, crushed carrots, apricot, a hint of earthiness, minerality, considerably full body. Finish, I am having some awkward finish, some wood, earthiness, the carrots and barnyard are still vibrant, balanced and round, lingering, a little (very little) hint of lime. Overall, this is a good demonstration of why I always say California is not the place that you'd consider at the first place for sauvignon blanc! This wine tastes (almost) nothing like sauvignon blanc. Yes, it is balanced, round, and has a lingering finish, but still not (sauvignon blancy). Bottled at 14.5%, which is extremely high for a sauvignon blanc! I am 86 on this effort. In two years this may get 86+ points. Happty drinking!

Color, nice clean very appealing. Nose, some apricot, peaches, nice, a little (very little) hint of earthiness, lemon peel, fresh, smooth. Midpalate, lime and lemon, crisp, light, some peaches. Finish, a little bit hallow, not really lasting that long, but still crisp and somehow pleasant. Overall, this wine is very well know, balanced, nice by the pool, summer times- like. I am 87 on this effort. Happy drinking!

Actually 4.5+ points. Color, this wine has a deep dark ruby red color, very seductive. Nose, there are a lot of black fruits going on, black licorice, mind toasty oak, vanilla, a hint of coffee beans, very complex nose indeed, some smooth nice dirt and dry leaves coming through also, extremely aromatic. Midpalate, very silky, black licorice dominating, black fruits, it is a little bit (just a bit) hallow on midpalate!, lush, smooth, dry, big, bold. Finish, this wine shows a lot of finesse, very elegant, luxurious, super silky, long, very long finish (60+ seconds and still feeling it!!), smooth nice tannins, mouth filling, very well balanced, layers and layers of black fruits coming through. Overall, this wine is very well made. It clearly shows a lot of potential. It has a nice roundness. It has not peaked yet. I would put it away until 2023-2047. I am enjoying this wine a lot! I would only recommend it to a very good wine expert. I am easily 96+ on this effort. I can see this wine reach 97 in 25 years. Happy drinking!

Maybe 4.4+ stars. Color, this wine has a nice dark ruby red color. Nose, leather, orang peel (just a little), black fruits, blackberry, currant, some floral aromas coming through, licorice, some earthiness. Midpalate, nice black fruits, licorice, some dark chocolate, voluptuous, dry, young, full bodied, has a nice weight. Finish, very silky, elegant, smooth, nice complexity, well balanced, a little hint of bitterness (in a good way), lingering (45+ seconds and still feeling it), dark chocolate and black fruits are dancing on my palate, nice firm smooth tannins. Overall, this wine is very well made. It is a very modern still of Bordeaux. It has not peaked yet. I would put it away until 2026-2038. I am 95 on this effort. I am enjoying it very much. I would indeed recommend it to any wine lover who appreciates quality. Happy drinking!
