The Clicquot Traveller is designed to hold your
most chic travel companions: two custom designed
Champagne flutes and a 750ml bottle of Veuve
Clicquot Yellow Label. Not only is the Traveller...
Item No. 88444
As a longtime drinker of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, I knew the quality of the wine and was not disappointed. On the other hand, I was very disappointed with the quality of the flutes. I bought this package as a gift and the stem on one of the flutes broke before I could even get it to my recipient. (stems are too thin)
I am a HUGE fan of Sauvignon Blancs and have to admit that I really wanted to like this one as well with its 93 pt rating. However, the wine's taste was pretty boring and unimpressive. The wine also had an odd slight carbonation to it with many small bubbles that persisted throughout the bottle. Maybe I just got a bad bottle, but wanted to let everyone know.
My wife and I discovered this wine 3 years ago and have loved every vintage since. We have always loved this wine because of its crisp, light, grapefruity, and earthy taste. It is very pleasantly different from other Sauvignon Blancs out there and is GREAT for summer. Always a great value, this year's vintage is not quite as good as last year's (as the professional ratings indicate) but it is still VERY worth your time.
When I can find wine as well rated and cheap as this one from from 2001, I backed the truck up and loaded up. I served this wine to my wife and friends and everyone enjoyed it as a smooth and well balanced wine, however it was nothing super. If you are looking for a bargain priced, extremely balanced and mellow red, then this is your wine. If you want something that will knock your socks off, keep looking. Hope this helps! -Matt
This is a fantastic little wine for the price when you just want something to enjoy on the patio during summer. The wine has a crisp and citrus taste that is easy to drink with no aftertaste.
I have a confession to make, I am not a fan of super-dry, brut sparkling wines. My favorite sparkling wine is Veuve Clicquot and this wine tastes very similar but for a fraction of the price. This sparkling wine is very balanced without being too sweet or dry.
I just moved to New Mexico and wanted to get a taste of the local wines. Gruet is far and away the leader in the State and their sparkling wines are not to be missed. My wife and I prefer sparkling wines that are NOT super dry and this one fit the bill perfectly. Great balance with a refreshing finish make this one a staple in our fridge and you should give it a try as well.
Year after year, the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc is the best Sauvignon Blanc you can buy under $20. The wine is very approachable to all palates and has a great crisp and refreshing citrus taste that pairs perfectly with summer.
This crisp, light wine is the drink of choice for both my wife and I. Not only is it the best white wine we have ever had for less than $50, but it can be had for less than $20. Combine the price with the critical acclaim it has received and you have a no brainer for a relaxing Sunday afternoon or Friday night party.
