Smooth & Supple
This wine has a very subtle black cherry nose. I was expecting more aroma, although this wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Definitely reminded me of Decoy P.N. 2011 vintage with a little more punch. After an hour of decanting the nose still remained subtle and dark. The initial taste was hot and very acidic. The strawberry and cherry tart was stronger than most pinots and danced in my mouth. Slightly fleshy on the mid but relatively thin for this varietal. If I had to sum up this wine in two words it would be hot and tart :) Longer finish than Decoy and more acidic follow through. Overall definitely a value in the 20$ range but ladies and gentleman I have yet to find a under 30$ wine beat out Cambria!
Big & Bold
For the price I was honestly not expecting too much and it gave me exactly what I expected. After intervals of decanting I could not get this wine to open up much and give me some expressive qualities of this varietal. I guess I can't exactly expect this for a 12 dollar syrah. Probably won't buy again.
Light & Fruity
Definitely perfumey with sharp acidity, Silky on the mid. Great nose of cherry starburst and tangy strawberry. Reminds me a lot of a 09 bottle of Moillard Hautes Cotes de Nuits burgundy. Not a big pinot but packs a punch. I was overly impressed as I bought this bottle in December '12 for 11$ USD.
