Big & Bold
The pleasure was all mine (and my wife's too)! It's hard to go wrong with a Napa Cab from Oakville. Simply stated - this was the best wine we have ever had. It was also the priciest and highest rated. Cooled it to around 60, let breath for over an hour, didn't bother to decant. Drank with extra sharp cheddar and baguette. Big legs, luscious. One thing I noticed with a wine of this caliber was that changes throughout the taste faded slowly from one taste to the next and were not abruptly experienced. I’ve never thought twice about abrupt taste changes before experiencing this one. Every part of the taste was exquisite! I would rate it a 96 or 97 pointer.
Big & Bold
Disclaimer: I had a sinus infection when I tried this one. I thought the wine was very good and typical of a good Napa Cab but not sure it was a WS 94 which might explain the great price for what a WS 94 pointer usually costs. I might agree more with Robert Parker on this one. I'd give it a 92.
Big & Bold
This is way above what we usually drink. Big and bold, opaque, big fruit, and smooth. Easily surpasses what you can get at a restaurant for $100. Truly has several unique characteristics that wine makers endeavor to put in their bottles.
Smooth & Supple
I can't say anything bad about it. This varietal is usually not what I drink. I love big and bold reds. This was not big and bold. It was a bit too light in body and taste for my preference but very good. Definitely worth the experience. If you are introducing red wine to people who are not red drinkers, this is a good introduction bottle. Simple and unintimidating.
Was not as heavy as we usually like our Cabs to be. We like our Cabs almost opaque, this was too light. The taste had nothing horribly wrong. It was very simple and to me it tasted more like a cheaper Pinot or Malbec. Sweeter than a cab should be. I liked it but know many better wines in this price range. I don't need to buy it again for a few years but would if i found myself with in a store with limited selection. I also would buy again just because of the sustainability practices. I have to give them some points there! Good wine to introduce white wine drinkers or beginner wine drinkers to red.
Typical, great Napa taste. I brought this to a wine tasting party based on a recommendation of a trusted source with similar taste. Rules of the party were that it had to be red and less than $30. Everyone brought two bottles. Everyone blind tasted one bottle and rated them. At the end the person who brought the highest rated bottle got to take home the second bottle that everyone brought. This was a clear winner. It wasn't that complex but the tast was perfect and simple so that a less experienced in reds pallet would enjoy it. Great wine when introducing someone to red wine.
Bought this at Costco for $35. Went back the next day and it was all gone. Should have bought a half case at least. Out of my price range normally. Decant for half hour. Try to maintain 60 degrees. These things increase your experience two fold on this bottle. Drinks like an $80 - $100 bottle.
