I've ordered this wine several times and you won't be disappointed for a modest $16. It has the ability to compliment any carnivorous meal or is fantastic solo. Tannins are light but for the most part it's bright and balanced. Decent finish. Try it.

Unfortunately, this wine didn't do much for me. Definitely palatable but nothing special either. There is plenty of Shiraz out there in this price range that will knock your socks off. For me, this just wasn't one of them.

So much more than an 89 rating would suggest.

Don't get me wrong, this is an interesting gem of a wine that left me very satisfied for the $40 spent, but the prominent "saddle leather" smell is more of an antiseptic leather and reminded me of band aids. However, if you're lucky enough to grab a bottle be ready for a roller coaster of sensations. Very rustic and smokey. Highly recommended.

Concha y Toro Terrunyo Carmenere 2004
(this vintage is sold out)
Price: $29.99
One of the best wines I've ever consumed. Complex, elegant, average tannins and lots of spice.
