I must be honest, I was a little disappointed in this wine. I don't know what I was expecting, but its not a bad wine. I prefer a little more body to my reds.
The winemaker's notes are true where it says "...age in the bottle...". I bought 2 bottles and opened one right away. I was not impressed with the first, but I let the second bottle sit in the wine cooler for 1 year and WOW! I was very impressed with the complexity and all the flavors that came forth. Yummy!
First had this in The Olive Garden and was blown away. The price had me assuming it would be a small wine, but since then I always try to keep a bottle around. And my wife, who is not much of a wine drinker, is usually the one who opens it.
My wife and I got the itch to open a bottle one random week night for "a" glass of wine. After taking a few sips of this delicious wine, I knew the bottle would be gone. This wine is one of the best "bang for the buck" wines I have tasted. It was velvety smooth with notes of cherry and chocolate. Be careful with this bottle, its evil!
