I wish I could remember the name of the 90 rated value rose' wine I had last year but it opened my eyes to this type of wine and it's the standard by which I now judge rose'. Mulderbosch is popluar. It has no off notes with strawberry flavors that are light and pleasant...but not exceptional depth or complexity for a rose'. Given that rose' is made from different types of grapes maybe those made from 100% cabernet isn't my favorite but it's good. I'd give this rose' a score of 86 with 3 quality stars.
This is a wine that surprised me. I'm not typically a great fan of any of the varietals blended in this wine but tasting it made me a believer. Rather than the typical cough syrup taste I anticipated the wine too a turn toward sweet fruit instead. Just a very tasty wine that should appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. Overall this wine is extremely user friendly but not a 90 wine in terms of complexity or length of finish. My score - a very strong 89...enjoy!
This wine is popular because it's truly a smooth and fruity style that suits what many U.S. consumers want out of a white wine...we want it tasty, fruit forward, and uncomplicated by oak. For years, Kendall-Jackson knows how to hit that 'sweet' spot and they've done so here. I'd give the wine a rock solid 87 as there's nothing off putting but it's straight forward 'fast food' Chard...and there's nothing wrong with that! Buy and enjoy.
This is not an overly fruity pinot noir. Even so, it's truly enjoyable pinot with earthiness yet has dark cherry fruit that is nicely integrated. A tasty pinot that's probably an 89 rather than a 90. I'd given it a 90 if the fruit was just a touch more pronounced. All in all - a high quality wine.
Make no mistake...this is a good rock solid cabernet. It is technically structured with everything integrated and nothing off putting but nothing special either. This is the second 90 wine I've had this evening that was rated highly but was created to NOT be off putting rather than to take a chance and be something more. A 90+ wine should be reserved for wines with someting special...this isn't it...a solid effort.
I've had a German riesling rated 91 and this wine. The German riesling blew this one completely away. There's nothing off putting...everything is technically correct and integrated...very, very light flavors of the fruit...good but not outstanding...it's as good as it will get...tasted twice.
Tasted the wine twice...the reviews are a bit overstated...there are no off putting flavors...a pleasant wine but the flavors are muted...an 85 at best.
It's a pleasure to find a value pinot noir that's enjoyable. It has enough fruit and earthiness to please anyone looking for an everyday pinot noir. A very nice buy.
It's a pinot noir style wine without the earthy quality of true pinot...a sweet style wine with no off putting qualities at all..I'd buy it again in a heartbeat at just over $10.
This is a light and mildly pleasant wine...an 81 out of 100...the issue is quality for price...you can find better at a lower price point.
