The appearance of this wine is very light, almost clear. Little depth in the color (1 of 2). The bouquet is light and has just the faintest flowery hint to it (2 of 4). This wine does have a very nice presentation however. It is very easy to drink, and a light slightly sweet (This is no Brut!) body with little depth gives the drinker nothing at which to take offense (5 of 10). Overall, this sparkling wine will have broad appeal as per the winemakers design, but it will not excite any experienced wine fans. (2 of 4). I'll keep a half case of this on hand for events to which I need to bring a mass-appeal sparkling wine. TOTAL: 10 of 20

This wine has a nice deep red color (2 of 2). The bouquet is pleasant and aproachable, promising medium full body and an enjoyable tasting experience (3 of 4). The taste is a touch dry on the way in, and a medium body keep this wine from playing with the big boys. A flinty, well balanced finish should stand up to fairly substantial meals (5 of 10). Overall, I may have enjoied this wine more had I taseted it with food. It certainly has the structure to avoid being overpowered by most food parings (2 of 4). Total Score: 12 of 20

Normally not a fan of anything rose, this sparkling wine from California sets itself apart from others in its price category. By keeping the skins on Pinot just long enough to give it some color, you also get more body and flavor making this a very interesting wine by itself or with food. This wine looks a bit over-filtered and is so clear you can read through it (1 of 2). The bouquet is also nothing to write home about, promising nothting special, but sending no warning flags either (2 of 4). Fortunately, this wine tastes much better than it looks and smells. A pleasant if uncomplicated taste rests lightly on the pallet, making pleasant drinking on it's own (6 of 10). Overall, this wine is okay for the price, but it may be to subtle for most food parings (2 of 4). I like this wine for under $20, but I wouldn't age it nor would I serve it with food more substantial than an appetizer platter. TOTAL (11 of 20)

A nice ruby red (2 of 2), this merlot has an open and warm boquet, with a gentle hint of oak (3 of 4). The presentation is fresh and bright and leads to a fun, medium weight body and a simple yet enjoyable finsih (6 of 10). A super value at $23, it is very nearly as good as many Napa Merlots in the $60s.(3 of 4). TOTAL: 14 of 20

The apperance is just a touch clearer than I expect from a good Pinot (2 of 3). An interesting bouquet, but not spectatular. Along with the clarity of appearance, I'm expecting an over-filtered, thin taste (3 of 4).Boy am I surprised! A perfectly well balanced wine with just right acidity and tannins! Does this wine ever deliver the taste! A sophisticated presentation that combines several dynamic tastes leads to a rich body full of texture. The finish is long and complex, earning extraordinary marks (9 of 10). This wine doesn't have the tannins to support more aging, and will never be one of the 'Great Pinots', but it is very drinkable today and a decidely enjoyable wine that I think you can enjoy with many foods or by itself (3 of 4)! I'll keep a case on hand as this is a strong value for under $40! TOTAL: 16 of 20

Unlike most thin Washington reds, this is a tasty full-bodied red with little tannon left as of our 2008 tasting. Well blended, it works by itself or with food. I'd pair it with the same foods I'd pick for a big Merlot, not a traditional Cab however. Color 1-3:3; Nose 1-4:4; Taste 1-8:7; Overall 1-5:5 Total 0-20: 19

Clear and bright, there is still good depth in the color (2 of 2). Nice oak and spice in the nose is really promising (3 of 4). There is a pleasant introduction to a full body. Spices turn into a light fruit in good mouth feel complexity with an enjoyable finsih. (8 of 10). A very nice wine, it is approachable and tasty! TOTAL 16 of 20

Not quite as wonderful as it's 2003 namesake, but it is one of the better Washington reds. Another year in the cellar (not more) and it could get close to rivaling it's older sibling. Let breathe for a couple of hours if opening now. Color 1-3:3; Nose 1-4:3; Taste 1-8:6; Overall 1-5:4 Total 0-20: 16

Good color (2 of 2) and a young fruit-forward bouquet still lacks a touch of complexity, but does promise a full body (3 of 4). A very nice presentation, this is not a big fruit bomb, but rather a pleasant medium body wine with a smooth, well blended finish (8 of 10). While excellent in places, all in all, it's just okay (2 of 4). TOTAL 15 of 20
