Opened in January 2010 - a very nice shiraz. I decanted this wine for an hour, and was rewarded with a pleasant nose that reminded me of wet moss (in a pleasant and fresh way). On the palate I found deep fruit (berries), slightly tart - but I expect that will round out if cellared for a year or so. A bit of earthy spice, full bodied, very nice. Paired well with sharp cheese and drinks well on its own. I've ordered more for my cellar.

Robust nose - earthy fruit tones jump out of the glass. On the palate, the fruit comes forward but the earth tones carry through in the background, with a hint of spice. Tart berries on the finish (which is short but fresh). Overall I find this to be a big, bold and balanced - a very nice Shiraz. I'm weeping in my glass as I write, as the vintage is no longer available - I wish I had bought more.

Very nice California Sav. Blanc.; light oak on the nose; bright, crisp fruit on the palate; gentle tartness on the finish. Perfect as a pre-dinner wine; also paired well with asian fusion food (in my case, avacado, wasabi and raw tuna). I usually prefer New Zealand Sav. Blanc for the more subdued fruit and enhanced mineral tones that those wines typically have (lacking here) - but this is a great expression of California-style Sav. Blanc, well worth the price.

The wine has a very powerful (overpowering) nose unless decanted for at least and hour. Once decanted however, this is an astounding wine for the price - chewy and dense, with earthy fruit tones. I enjoyed this alone, and with a strong/creamy french blue cheese - excellent. This is not a complex wine - but for the price, if you like a big red this is outstanding. I bought one bottle to try it - just ordered a half-case for the cellar. Given the tannins, its short term in the cellar, but will be a strong add.

This wine is fairly acidic and thin, despite the additions of the Merlot and Cab. It does pair very nicely with strong cheese - and I imagine it would work very well with roasted or grilled meats - but it is too sharp and bland to enjoy on its own. For the price its a nice wine - but spend a few more bucks (literally) and you can do much better. Dont believe the "earthy and spicy" tag - this is neither.

Gentle tannins - the wine opens up fairly quickly, tart fruit with slight black pepper on the finish. Nice medium/full bodied blend, great for the price. I had this with shaved Pecorino Romano and it held up well.

Great with strong cheese (e.g., french blue); realtively smooth, no distinct flavors come through. Very nice - but I didn't like it as much as some of the other reviewers.

This is not a ball buster - rather its actually quite smooth. The nose is light for a shiraz/cab blend, but still full enough to stand up to heartier dishes, and is quite nice to enjoy on its own. In the mouth it is more fruity and less peppery than many Aussie shiraz, with a surprisingly long finsish. Your snooty friends (not you, of course) might be put-off by the screw top; but if you're looking for a smooth and relaitively light shiraz, look no further. Let it breathe for an hour and it drinks nicely now (1/2010); I would not cellar past 2012.

Average at best - tart and thin, with rough tanins. Maybe it needs to sit in the cellar a longer?

Smooth and very nice. The nose is balanced fruit and wood tones. The smoothness continues on the palate. Holds up well with cheese and lighter styles of beef. The bottle I received was stoppered with cork, not screw cap as indicated.
