Light & Crisp
All the typical Gewurtztraminer flavors are there, lychee, lime, rose, just very subtle. Makes a good aperitif or for simple quaffing. The price point makes this a good value.
Light & Fruity
All the flavors seemed very muted to me. Mild in fruit flavors and tannins. Not a bad wine just not as assertive as I like. Perhaps it is already past it's prime. I have 2 more bottles left. If my opinion changes with the other 2 bottles I will revise my review.
Big & Bold
This is an excellent wine now (if you give it about an hour to breathe first) and should hold and develop well for perhaps the next ten years. Dry, dusty, fruity, with a smooth lingering finish. Not a fruit bomb, but a solid Cabernet. Highly recommend. Was excellent with a medium rare beef tenderloin.
Big & Bold
A solid 4 stars now and should evolve to 5 within 5 to 10 years. Everything is there right now: fruit, acids, tannins but they just haven't harmonized yet. All the flavors are separate and distinct, not melding. Even decanting and aerating does not help them combine. I hold out great hope for this wine.
Lingering and tingling tastes of citrus and honey envelope the palate. The viscosity is the perfect blend of feel and taste combined to make each sip a sensual experience. Any more flavor would be gilding the lily, any less and it's perfection would be lost. This is truly a dessert wine to be savored on it's own merit, not as a mere accompaniment to a sweet dish.
Perhaps it is just my palate, but all fruit wines to me have a metallic bitter taste I do not enjoy. I have tried many high quality fruit wines with the same results. I will stick with the sweet grape wines such as ports, sherries, late harvests, etc.
An excellent wine for the big Sunday Brunch. Being sweet but not cloyingly so, lends itself to the myriad of flavors found at the table. Goes well with smokey bacon, salty cheeses or ham, spicey sausages, and sweet jam or honey flavors of the meal. Also holds it own with the coffee. An excellent choice for special occasions.
Very much like the Cristalino Brut Cava, a touch sweeter and fruiter nose. Festive looking and price lends it to everyday entertaing.
Light, crisp, fresh, rather a short finish. However at the price it is an excellent value for an everyday bubbley.
An excellent choice as an aperitif or for the "Elevens" AM or PM. Served chilled and enjoy. May also accompany Tapas.
