Too acidic for our taste. Very little floral or fruit. Drinks like a sauvignon blanc. Very crisp and clean on the finish.
Have pruchased Roederer for years and always rated 89-91.....crisp, clean taste; refreshing and no aftertaste....A good gift idea for friends and family....
Light body, average good. It's okay but there are too many 2007 & 2008s from the west coast that are superior.
I loved the companion shiraz, but this "red" is so smooth and rich, it deserves WS top 100 rating. The cost is a gift, so take advantage. Because of the inexpensive cost, a great wine to share with many friends.
What a fabulous wine! On my fourth bottle, offered two to friends - we agree. All the nose one could wish for; pleny of upfront fruit; and the finish lingers. Yes, its $40, but it's as good as it gets. The balance is superb. Go ahead and splurge - you won't regret it!
Another wonderful Pride merlot. This one is a big merlot, elegant and a mouthful of fruit. I will serve the next bottle with friends and very little food. This one is meant to be savored. Silky on the tongue. Only four stars because of the cost.
With 2007 & 2008 California & pacific coast Pinot Noirs so outstanding, any other must be judged against them. I and my guests agreed this wine is "top three" among the PNs we have tasted in the last year. It deserves its ratings. Terrific nose, great fruit flavor. Would compliment most any food, but can stand alone as a glass of cheer. More complex than others.
Served six of the WS 2010-2011 top 100. Bodegas was first or second choice among 40% of the guests. I have found other tempranillo (blends) that are as good and much less expense. I continue to shop around. However, the wine is dense and elegant. Big in the mouth, but I noted a slightly metallic taste on the finish. Could be me, and I look forward to another bottle to confirm.
