    Primus The Blend 2006
    Sold Out $18.29
    2011 vintage available for $18.99
This is what I expect out of a $25 bottle. Let this wine breathe for 30+ minutes before enjoying it. The nose begins beautifully and interestingly (tobacco?) and then develops into a good example of a bordeaux blend. Deep, ripe berries, juicy plum and a hint of chocolate balance this wine nicely with the tannins. Expect a long finish of ripe blackberry. What I like best about this wine is that it doesn't 'need' food to be paired with, but it also works very well with food. It worked great with Chicken Scallopine and fresh pasta with garlic and olive oil

    Cline Oakley Five Reds 2006
    Sold Out $9.79
There are a slew of wines under $10 that have the tasting profile of this one. Up front, the taste is a well blended, lightly oakey red table wine. The finish however, is too bitter for my tastes. That finish just hangs around in my mouth for too long. Find another wine in the $12 range.

Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
    Sold Out $19.29
    2012 vintage available for $16.99
This is on par with a typical $15 Cab Sauv. The wine is balanced fairly well but does not drink well alone...it needs food. I had it with braised shortribs and again with roast chicken and it held up. Without food, the finish comes across bitter; but with food there is a nice level of oak, plum and maybe some cedar back there.

    Hogue Genesis Syrah 2005
    Sold Out $13.49
    2010 vintage available for $13.99
It's not like I think this is the finest wine around, but I give it 5 stars for price as compared to quality. This deep red is ripe and lucious. It reminds me of all the qualities those $9 rosemount Shiraz blend bottles, but provides much better quality...kind of like everything that $9 bottle wishes it was. This is a jammy wine with light oak and a familiar spice (pepper?) on the finish.

Jim Barry Cover Drive Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
    Sold Out $19.99
    2012 vintage available for $19.99
This wine is a screwtop, and at first taste is nothing to write home about. let it breathe for 5 minutes and you begin tasting complexity in the wine. Another 5 and you get chocolates and tobacco. Another 5 and you get cloves/berries. and on and on and on. this is an intriguing wine because of its unique personality

Feudi di San Gregorio Aglianico Rubrato 2005
    Sold Out $22.99
    2012 vintage available for $17.99
For $20, I'd buy this wine again. It is a good example of a medium/lighter bodied red that is well balanced from your nose to stomach. I feel like you need to enjoy this with Italian food to get the best out of it, but I'd drink this any day of the week on its own.
