This is one of the very few wines which actually pairs perfectly with Turkey, most reds don't. It is also very easy to drink so it is approachable for both vetran and novice wine drinkers. If you really want to enjoy the experience and impress your friends but it in the fridge for 10 minutes before you serve it. Your family will be shocked you put a slight chill on it but it brings out all of the great fruit flavors and just tastes incredible. Such a great value also at this price. Supple crushed strawberry flavors underscored by zesty nuances of peppercorns, gentle tannins and a clean acidity, finishing on a succulent, refreshing note.
Benziger produces very little of this wine so it is hard to find. Lucky for us Wine.com has it so we can all save lot's of time and gas looking for it. Not only that, the price savings is huge. This wine is far superior to most at the same price or lower. Just what you would expect in a Pinot, Nice cherry, strawberry & plum flavors with a velvety finish.
I think this is one of the best domestic sparklers made. If you are looking to save money, can't afford French Champagne and want to buy American this is the star for you. The winery iteself is beautiful, if you are ever in Napa/Sonoma area besure to stop by and have a glass on their beautiful terrace over looking the vineyards.
I said this before with previous vintages. This winery is a sleeper and this wine is a steal. Use map it and see who surrounds this winery. It is a who's who of planner which charge $100 or more for their Napa Cab.
Wine.com nailed the description of this wine perfectly, Smooth & Supple which usually does not describe a New Zealand Red wine but it does in this case. This wine is a great discovery you will enjoy sharing and surprising your friends with.
I know I already wrote one wine review for this but I just learned something new about it. Domaine Carneros Wines are now Vegan friendly. This means that no animal byproducts were used in its production. Some wineries fine/clarify their wines with egg whites and or gelatin. Not Domaine Carneros.
Why buy French at twice the price when you can have this Sparkler. I drink it all the time.
I just polished off a bottle all by myself. Bright tropical fruit flavors with just enough oak, not to much, not to little
This wine says New Zealand. Very bright and crisp fruit flavors with a nice, slighlty tart finish.
