Given, this is my first Sangiovese, but we enjoyed it very much. Much better than a Merlot but not quite as fruity as a Syrah.
An appellation I didn't know we'd like, and we did. Too bad it's sold out, but will try others.
Needed long breathing time, at least 45 minutes. Alcohol itself smelled similar to rubbing alcohol. The fruit of the wine was very nice though, once the bottle was opened long enough.
Seemed too woody and sharp tannin.
Medium fruit for a shiraz, but not overly dry. Good value.
Heavy, almost musky aged fruit and barrel flavor. You can taste its age. 3 1/2 stars. I know some would enjoy this wine more than I, as I prefer a cleaner finish.
Very flavorful fruit and excellent balance.
With food, it was great and had a completely different taste. Alone, without food, it was too sharp, definitely classifying it as a table wine in my opinion.
Golden, well rounded fruit balance. Very light and a pleasure to drink.
Sweet on front of tongue, dry on back. Good, and a great bargain.
