Spicy and yet, bright red cherry, medium to full bodied, excellent! I will be buying more for a holiday party.

    Cline Cashmere Red 2012

    2013 vintage available for $15.99

I am a big Cline fan. This blend fits the name, smooth and luxurious mouthfeel, red raspberry, strawberry jam, subtle finish. Great as a gift, definite crowd pleaser.

    Hogue Genesis Syrah 2009
    Sold Out $8.99
    2011 vintage available for $16.99

Delicious! Anise and black cherry, cola, a hint of smoke, definitely an excellent value. I have to say, it reminded me of a nice Pinot rather than a Syrah, but so elegant I did not mind! Will be purchasing for Thanksgiving dinner. Was wonderful with a carrot ginger soup.

This is the first wine I have ordered on wine.com that I truly hated! Tasted of rancid pine needles, raw essential oils. Screwcap top, so how could it be corked ? Concentrated and tarry, just strange. Maybe I have a limited palate? Definitely "earthy" in the worst way. I thought maybe my palate was off, tried again after a few hours still undrinkable.

    Artezin Mendocino Zinfandel 2011
    Sold Out $14.99
    2012 vintage available for $16.99
    Style: Smooth & Supple
Very plum-driven to me. Dark fruit: dates, figs. Nice sweet spicing : cinnamon, clove, cardamom. Would be perfect with Indian food I would imagine. I am going to more Zinfandels from Mendocino though, very ripe, jammy finish.

This wine will be great to have during the holidays, I plan on buying more to have on hand. There is a very appealing dark berry and maple syrup richness to this Malbec. Medium to full bodied and very nice as a casual drinking wine. The simplicity of this wine makes it a safe choice for a larger group of people. Those new to wine and heavy tannins will appreciate the rich fruit without an intense finish. Good value! Update: I had to come back and give this wine 5 instead of 4 stars because it really merits it. The next day the wine had evolved into this rich and round wine far more developed than before. Excellent.

Francis Ford Coppola Director's Cut Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2011
    Sold Out $23.99
    Style: Earth & Spicy
Very nice cinnamon, star anise and clove nose with smooth black cherry fruit. Great with spicy or highly spiced food. Not as bold or full bodied as some Zinfandels, but pleasant and not overly syrupy or tannic.

Domaine Laroche La Chevaliere Rose 2011
    Sold Out $8.99
I would call this a dry+ Rose, as the sweet cantaloupe finish is on the syrupy side. Wonderful freshness in the strawberry and peach nose. Would be excellent with very spicy food (I was having pasta and found it a bad pairing without extra pepper) as the finish is not tart/green enough for my taste. I prefer the Chateau de Campuget Costieres de Nimes Tradition Rose 2012 as a Rose that stands up on its own without being on that slightly sweet side....

    Punto Final Malbec Classico 2012
    Sold Out $12.99
    2013 vintage available for $12.99
    Style: Smooth & Supple
A pleasant medium bodied every day drinking wine with rounded tannins. Smooth. Not as much depth in terms of fruit, (slightly flat for this varietal) but I did note aromas of dark cherries and dark brown sugar. Casual and a good value, I would recommend this if you were new to Malbecs, very approachable.

    Di Majo Norante Sangiovese 2011
    Sold Out $11.99
    2013 vintage available for $11.99
    Style: Earth & Spicy
I would give this 3.5 if I could. I found this was a unremarkable example of the varietal. Not only did it seem a bit watery/bland, but it had a distinctly bitter olive finish for me that I could not get past. The mouthfeel of the wine improved with aeration but the finish was not to my taste.
