If you just like big sweet over the top shiraz, you'll probably like this. At first it has licorice and tannins and is a bit harsh. As it gets air it becomes sweet(too much for my taste) and loses the complexity because the fruity sweetness trumps everything else. If you like "Parker" shirazes and blends like Sarahs blend You,ll like this too.
This could develop into the equal of my favorite, the 2001 Elderton shiraz! After some air or decant time, it smooths out to dense delicious blueberry and blackberry waves of flavor balanced by spice and tanins. This is a winner!
A bargain for the wine you get for the $. Just open early or decant and enjoy the unique taste of Sicily's nero d'avola grape! Not your typical Italian chianti type of wine.
This isn't a knock- your -socks -off blockbuster of a wine, but still it's well worth the $20. The pure fruit is driven by fresh acidity and ripe tannins. It fills your mouth in an understated but appealing way compared to some overly sweet or overly oaked syrah/shirazes. I enjoyed it by itself as well as with food.
Very good smooth Cali cab with classic cab flavors. Nice balance of fruit , tannins and acidity. Good with or without food.
