This muscat is delightfully sweet with a distinct raisin flavour similar to that of the yalumba museum reserve, but lighter. I had it paired with an almond pound cake and i must say that the almond extract from the cake highlighted the wine's own fruity aftertaste.
excellent red wine for its price, not as full bodied as a rioja but the wood like sweeter taste works wonderfully with rich beef cuts like a steak poivre and/or blue cheese.
I tried this wine thinking that it would live up to the expectations i have regarding white greek wines, which for the most part, i have always found to be superb. However, in spite of its 92 point rating i found it lacking in aroma and freshness. It's not a bad wine, but it is not special, just ordinary.
This wine has a delightful raisin taste, granted it might be too sweet for some pallates i have found it just to my liking, particularly after very greasy plat forts like duck. Since it is rather sweet a cup will last for a long pleasant while. I had it with a cherry claffouti and the pairing was wonderful.
I tried this Albarino together with scallops in clementine sauce, the zest in the sauce enhanced the fruity flavor in the wine and the freshness in it made it specially good for the summer. It must be served quite chilly. Very good price quality ratio.
I had this Rioja together with some beef bourgignon, it was a very good pairing since the wine is dry and full bodied. It is a good idea to leave decanting for a while. I give it four stars because in spite of being very good, and something i would buy again under a price/quality criterion, there are better Riojas out there.
