Nothing about the appearance detracts from the experience (2 of 2). The bouquet is fairly neutral. Nothing odd or suspicious, but a light, pleasant smell that suggests a mild presentation and body (3 of 4). The presentation is indeed simple and enjoyable. Not overloaded with fruit, nor astringent with tannins. But not much to really talk about either. The body is middle of the road Merlot, and the finish is well-balanced but otherwise unremarkable (5 of 10). Overall, all the parts of this wine work well together. It's just not as complex a tasting experience as I woule like from my Merlot. Now is the right time to drink it, while it is still a well balanced wine. (2 of 4). I enjoied this wine, but I'll probably not buy it again, as ultimately, this wine is only an average, well made wine. TOTAL: 12 of 20

A good deep appearance earns good marks (2 of 3), and an interesting bouquet promises some spice and shows appropriate oak (3 of 4). The presentation is a bit heavy on the fruit, and the transitions a touch rough. It does have a nice medium body and a good finish to salvage a strong 7 of 10. Overall, this is a super wine to have with food, as the food will smooth the transitions. This wine is one of the best values in Pinot I've tried lately. I doubt you'll find it's equal for less than $35 (3 of 4). TOTAL: 15 of 20

A good, deep red (2 of 2), the bouquet is full, delicious and promising! Just a touch thin is the only reason the bouquet gets 3 of 4. The presentation is tasty and easy to drink. A big mouth feel, makes up for a simple but tasty finish. (8 of 10). This would be a staple Merlot in my cellar if it were only more affordable. (3 of 4). TOTAL 16/20

A deep and dark color, this wine looks powerful (2 of 2). Good spice in the bouquet, there a touch of oak, but I'm still looking for more (2 of 4). A big fruity intro makes for a nice presentation. it has good balance and a cool mouth feel. A complex finish is enjoyable. (8 of 10). A nice approachable cab, this is a very nice wine (3 of 4). While not unpleasant by any means, for the same price, I'll buy the Roderer Estate every time. Color (3 of 3). Solid marks, but lacking depth for top marks in bouquet (3 of 4). The taste is decidely too sweet for a brut, but is not offensive for what it is. (3 of 8). Overall, it's okay. (3 of 5). Total: 12 of 20

Color is just fine (3 of 3). Very nice boquet, but just short of promising greatness (3 of 4). Just right tannons, and refreshing acidity, this pinot has a full body with extended (though not complex) finish. Well balanced, and ready to drink this year (6 of 8). Overall, a very nice cool climate pinot! I'd buy this again to keep as core stock Pinot. (4 of 5). Total: 16 of 20

This wine looks fine (3 of 3), but there is nothing special about the bouquet. The smell doesn't promise much (2 of 4). The tasting experience shows pleasant tannins, and refreshing acidity, still this wine falls short of being full-bodied. The length of finish is okay but is not terribly complex. The wine is well balanced and ready to drink this year. (maybe best last year…) (3 of 8). Overall, A pleasant wine I'd value at $12-$14 a bottle, but would probably not buy again. This wine looks and smells great, but give it quite a bit of time to breathe to get the most out of it this year. Not quite as well blended as the nose would suggest and a touch sharp at the finish cost this wine a star and 3 points on my scale. I think this will do quite well if opened a year from now. Let breathe for 3 hours if opening in '08. Color 1-3:3; Nose 1-4:3; Taste 1-8:5; Overall 1-5:3 Total 0-20: 14

This low cost Pinot has an acceptable appearance, not loking too deep, but not excessivly filtered (2 of 2). Its bouquet is just slightly earthy promising only average potential (2 of 4). Being pretty well balanced makes up for an unexciting one-dimensional body and salvages an above average rating (6 of 10). Overall, don't wast any ink writing home about this one, but it's not bad for under $20 (1 of 4). TOTAL 11 of 20

A deep purple (2 of 2), this blend has a cooler, almost reserved bouquet (2 of 4). A young, fruity presentation with big mouth taste, it has a simple and straight forward finish (8 of 10). Bold and young, this wine is approachable and fun to drink. (3 of 4). TOTAL: 15 of 20
