Biography:
A neo oenophile, i.e. a wino. Having drunken wines from the cheapest (college days) to very expensive wines (paid by the bankers at deal closing dinners), I chose to select wine not by its price. Rather, I select wines by the way it pleasures my palate. I often find that less expensive wines made by small winery using basic techniques offer the exlixor that I seek. -- Practical Risk Manager (http://riskyops.blogspot.com)
What I like about wine:

What I seek in wine: Good bouquet on the nose with good full bodied taste that is neither too oaky or sweet. A little bit on the dry side without being too dry. Mid-taste should flow seamlessly from the first taste while being complimentary. Finally, the

My notes (collective summary of 6 wine tasters' notes at a dinner party. Food paring: cheese and cold cuts appetizer, pig-in-a-blanket, primavera pasta, clam Rockefeller, Korean style BBQ bone-in beef, and Thai style fried rice): Color: Nice red color Bouquet: Good bouquet of berries, soil, and spices but has an undertone of stifled air that detracts from it. Taste: Again, the berries, spices, and earth are there but something is stifling the taste. It is almost as if they bottled a bit of the damp foggy air.

Save your money and instead buy a $2 bottle of wine. That's what this wine taste like. It reminded me of the original Gallo box wine I drank in college but not as sweet. It is dry with light flavor but due to its harsh initial taste and chemical-like aftertaste, I recommend staying away from this.

For a wine under $10, this wine is delightfully drinkable. However, it is like other well made California wine: good with Chinese takeout but not memorable.
