Having eschewed any "pink" wine for many years, we decided to try a Tavel rose after having read an article about it. Our first encounter with its nose was amazing! Scents of strawberries and red raspberries fairly exploded out of the glass. The flavor was even better. This wine is dry and full in the mouth with wonderful flavor of the red berries. The finish is smooth and medium, but the scent of the wine remains in one's nose long after the drinking is over. This is a wonderful wine, full-bodied and delicious. The Tavel rose mystique is well earned.
A lovely wine; the viognier takes the edge off any rough edges in the not-quite-mature shiraz. It has a striking nose, full of fruits and flowers. The flavor is pleasant and well integrated with quite a long finish. Enjoyable with steak but better with lighter fare. Everyone will like this wine. Not too heavy, not too light - just right! What a wine value!
Superb value! Nose is clean, fresh and filled with pear, apple and pineapple scents. Flavorful on the palate, it is fresh and clean without being weak. This Rhone is faithful to the Rhone genre; full without being cloying. With a silky finish, it is a delightful white, suitable for all seasons. Lovely with duck, pork, shellfish and mild white fish, enhancing their flavors. It also stands on its own as an apertif, accompanying everything from nuts to pate, and it holds its own with all types of cheeses. Full bodied, it surpasses in nose and flavor savignon blancs, pinot grigios and chardonnays. Unless you prefer sweet wines such as rieslings, you will love this wine- chilled in summer and cellar temperature the rest of the year.
