What I like about wine:

Just learning about the world of me the "Wine for Dummies Book". Reading the book has been very informative but now need to start tasting. Drinking beer for so long and now turned 50 and would like to explore the taste of wine with the wife.

Finca Decero Malbec Remolinos Vineyard 2010

    2011 vintage available for $15.99
    Style: Smooth & Supple
    Pair with: Pork > BBQ
The Wine...Finco Decero Remolinos Vineyard 2010...The scene...Dinner at home with some grilling going on. Had a grilled rack of pork to go with this malbec that we ordered on the thinking the wife enjoyed a bottle of malbec that we picked up at Jewel food store a few weeks back. Sorry but not all of my wines are brought online. Wow, try saying that three time real fast...and getting back to the wine. Deep smelling fruits right away. Had a smooth taste with very little aftertaste of pepper. I like and wife say it okay...Our first malbec of the year and I guess with spring in the air our next bottle will be a chardonnay.

Bodegas Volver Paso A Paso Tinto 2010
    Sold Out $10.99
    2012 vintage available for $9.99
The Wine...Bodegas Volver Paso A Paso Tinto 2010...The scene...Family over for the Blackhawks game and chowing down on the wifes chili with a couple of wings to boot. Not really sure if the food pairing goes with this wine but I know for sure your not serving a white wine with wings and chili. Quite the wine expert we have become as we share this bottle. I had only a glass and loved the color, nice dark purple with a nice smell but the finish was a bit too dry for me. Another tempranillo that we have tried and on to the next bottle that we have ordered.

    14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
    Sold Out $13.99
    2012 vintage available for $10.99
    Style: Smooth & Supple
The Wine...14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon 2010...The Scene...Dinner at home. Wife and I tried the Chardonnay of 14 Hands and really liked it so the thinking was to try the red one so I placed the order, dinner on the table and opend the bottle and away we go. Very fragrant wine that I'm smelling through the nose and the taste was just right. Not too thin in the mouth and slight pepper taste on the the finish...I order another 14 Hands bottle, another red one and get a kick out of the name...Hot to Trot red blend.
