This wine was a great find and a delight. Slightly tart and just the right amount of citrus, without being either too sweet or too dry, this SB really delivers. Pretty color without being "showy". Well balanced and a medium bodied SB, this paired well with sharp cheese, and also fruit. In fact, I dropped some fresh peach slices and cherries in my glass to make an extra special treat. :) Try this wine, I don't think you'll be disapointed!
We were very dissapointed with this $50 wine. For that amount of money I expect a wine to be spectacular, or at least very good. This was was not noteworthy at all. All I could taste was olive, and I hate olives. My husband said no flavors stood out to him and it tasted flat. I won't waste $50 on a Groth cab again.
I almost gave this wine 4 stars (I think my husband would give it that) but for me it was a bit too light to merit 4 stars. It is a well balanced wine with a feathery light mouth feel and also a beautiful pale color. It is perfectly enjoyable all on it's own, without eating anything. In fact, for me, that's the main drawback of this wine, it's too light in body to even stand up to any food, except perhaps water crackers and a very mild cheese. If you like just a glass of cold, crisp white wine in the summer, in-between meals perhaps, this would be a nice choice. If you're looking for something that you could pair with an appetizer, soup or salad, I could suggest something with a little more "heft".
