What I like about wine:

Wine really takes A LOT of time to understand ... so it's nice to discuss it with people who know their stuff. But I especially enjoy learning about inexpensive but delicious wines and stocking up on those. Basically I really enjoy the 90+ under $20 list.

So that's what that is! The diesel or lighter fluid taste. And here I thought it was just me. The nose is pleasurable, but yes, I had to pause at that odd flavor. But you know what? I do like this wine since it pairs so well with food. I'm just too used to the CSM Rieslings ... this is different and good too!

Lovely off-dry flavor. I really enjoyed this bottle. Wish they had more.

Quinta do Vallado Douro Tinto 2009

    2011 vintage available for $17.99
    Style: Smooth & Supple

A very good solid and tasty red. I would say it's between medium to full bodied. It brings to mind juicy raisins ... really pleasurable to sip. It's also just a nice alternative to Napa Cabernet in the same price range.

I too am a fan of the Oak that is silver. Have you ever tried the vintner's select version, the Gold Oak?
