Wine represents the life of the soil. Plus, it tastes good alone, but really changes with food. Wine represents a worldly, mysterious stranger when new, and becomes a well-known friend after taking the time to accept its eccentricities.

I thought this Shiraz matches any 92 pointer, even though WS only awarded 90 points. This wine paired well with ribeye steaks and presented extraction that held up well with an onion-pepper compote. Lacks some finesse, which I expect will resolve over time. Lacks enough complexity to compare well with pricier Syrahs.

I reviewed this wine some time ago. Tonight, paired with 2" New York strip and passed through a specialty aerator, it rocked up around 94 points. Lacks complexity to compare with Lagier-Meredith or other high end wine, but was just super.
