Frei Brothers Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Frei Brothers Alexzander Valley Cab is an excellent value and compares nicely with many Napa Cabs. It is full bodied, balanced, has plenty of dark fruits and a hint of mint on the good finish. This has become my favorite California Cab value. Many of my wine friends support this view. The 2008 vintage is slightly better (4 stars)if you can still find it. The 2009 will likely improve with a little time in the cellar.

This wine was really disappointing to carry a 95 rating. I would rate no higher than 85 and in fact ended up poring out half of the first bottle I opened.
