Biography:
An Aussie expat now living on the Central Coast of California after transplanting from Adelaide, South Australia - the heart of the Australian red wine region!Learnt to cook from Maximillian Hruska at his two restaurants, like to cook for dinner parties at home using fresh local produce and Australian lamb, organic chicken, fresh wild salmon and local seafood, enjoy good company, lively discussion and hours of cards!
What I like about wine:

It gives a lift to everything I eat, feels good in the hand and is a good ice-breaker. Reds and Tawny Ports with good NZ Sauvignon Blanc usually fill my table - flavor is everything!

Haven't opened one yet but it has long been a favorite of mine when I lived just up the road (from the winery) a bit for most of my life. I just love red sparkling Shiraz (and Cabernet when it is available) as long as it is made like a quality red and not too sweet.

This is a knockout red from a winery now US owned (luckily there are still many left in the McLaren Vale area that are small, Aussie-owned, and will be forever - GREAT place to visit with simply stunning wineries to visit and eat at)at a price that reflects quality for the dollar. Great depth, excellent fruit with no aftertaste of sweaty horse collar, dirt and manure (being a bit sarcastic there!) and very easy to slip down with duck, lamb, good beef, strong cheeses or just under the pergola ruminating with nature - something we do a lot of here in the Central Coast of California and back home in Adelaide, Australia when I visit each year.

This is an old favourite from when I lived in Australia! A really good value quaffer ideally suited to sunny afternoons around the barbeque with friends and/or family. It slips down easily (too easily on many occassions!), has lots of fruit and a mouthful of flavour. Recommend it to anyone looking for good value red!
