I have to admit that I developed my love of wine from Communion at my grandfathers church. They served Mogan David which I really liked. Grasshoppers and eggnog are holiday traditions and Dad allowed me a small glass of grasshoppers for Christmas. The nog was n/a for me. Dad also allowed me to taste his cocktails but I did not care for the spirits. I fully believe that growing up being able to try 'grown-up' drinks allowed me to develope my tastes and a sense of responsibility. Unlike school mates who went overboard when they turned legal to drink alcohol I did not. My preference for sweet drinks and semi-sweet wines was established and I have sampled many varieties over the years. Still, st Christmas, an ice cold frothy batch of grasshoppers is a must.
