I don't know if this is a legit 91 rated cab.... but you can sure pay a lot more for a lot less. This is not a big, round California-style cabernet, but it still fairly full on the palate with good fruit. Thin but clean on the back end. It holds up well with grilled meat. At the price, you can't beat it. It's our new "house red."
Sure, it's hard to find a very good pinot at a reasonable price. This stacks up with bottles going for twice the cost. Very soft on the palate with reserved dark fruit. A bit of mineral and earth on the back gives it a little maturity. Layered, but lacking the depth of top flight pinots, it's still very good and a steal at this price
We generally favor heavier reds, so I bought this wine with low expectations just to have a rose on hand. After one bottle, I ordered a case. It is light and crisp, but has much more depth and character than typical American pinks (like white zins and white grenache's). Not overly sweet at all, and meatiness and earthiness of malbec is present on the back, beneath summer fruit and florals up front. This wine isn't going to "wow" anybody, but it is very nice to have moderately chilled, on a warm evening on the patio with fresh fuits or cheeses.
