This was a nice wine. It wasn't outstanding, but it was pleasantly drinkable. It has a nice aroma and smooth, easy-drinking demeanor. I enjoyed it and would buy it again. I've always liked wines from Mendoza, Argentina.

This review is actually about the 2005 Merlot. I've tasted the 2002 Merlot which was great. The 2005 Merlot, however needs a little more breathing time to fully appreciate its qualities. Prior to opening the bottle, make sure you cool it down to at least 65-68 degrees. Once it is cooled, open it and let it breathe for at least 30 min. It's amazing how much more it's flavors and qualities come out of the dark after this process! I give it 3 stars because of the extra effort needed to bring out its flavor. Otherwise, it is a very nice Merlot. Enjoy!

I was expecting a very good wine judging by the high ratings it received. I found it to be a relatively flat-tasting Shiraz. It was also a little tart. Since it has a twist-off cap, it couln't have been corked. However it almost tasted that way. I let it breathe for at least 20 mins. Prior to that, i had refrigerated it to a cooler 68 degrees. But, alas, nothing seemed to bring up its taste. Maybe just a bad batch. Would not buy this again - go for the Archetype from Barossa Valley instead!
