What I like about wine:

Can't decide whether I like Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon better - depends on the day and the meal. Except with respect to Bordeaux wines, I tend to like the light or medium bodied, more minerally reds. I avoid fruit bombs and the usually boring Merlot

Being always on the lookout for a good value, I've been a fan of the Louis Martini Cabs in recent years - especially the Sonoma County. This is a solid, satisfying effort. A reasonably complex flavor profile for a Cab in this price category, slightly on the leaner side body-wise. If anything was missing for me, tannins were on the soft side so probably won't improve tremendously with age and didn't have as long a finish as would be ideal, but is basically ready to drink now. Satisfying with the leg of lamb I roasted up for the family one holiday evening.

Chateau St. Jean Pinot Noir 2007
(this vintage is sold out)
Price: $23.99
This wine is exactly what I look for in pinot. I'm cost conscious, so I'm always looking for good ones under $30. This one leans towards the strawberry/raspberry fruit side (my preferance), typical medium light body, excellent food-worthy acid balance, some light minerally notes, gentle tannins - ready to drink but also will improve for another 3 or 4 years, I imagine.

Olson Ogden Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2007
(this vintage is sold out)
Price: $32.00
The listing here by Wine.com is misleading - this isn't a Central Coast wine, it's a North Coast wine. This pinot leans towards the dark fruit side, has typical medium light body and excellent acid balance. The tannins are rather soft, making this one ready to drink. I was impressed with the quality at this price - excellent with roasted chicken.
