An elegant, smooth Rhone punctuated with just the right amount of spice and acidity. A great value if you can find it for $10-$12.
Decent cherry and plum flavors. Not a lot of spice. A bit sharp for a rhone but that may be more of a positive than a negative. Good value but there are better sub $15 rhone blends out there.
It seems like most winemakers say their cabs and bordeaux blends have "rich, round and pleasing" tannins but in this case it's an accurate description. Rather than looking west to Napa or east to Bordeaux I guess more and more we should be looking south for bold, affordable reds.
