My family came to the U.S. from the Loire Valley during the reign of Louis XIV.  I have found pleasure in visiting all of the major wine regions of France.

This Sauvignon is superb! I bought it as a substitute for a particularly good Touraine that I couldn't find. Paired with crab, summer vegetables and cheese, it was the star of the evening! Clean and crisp, it was the archetype of what is best of the Loire. Not a hint of the tendency that some Marlboroughs have toward strong vegetal, even asparagus, tones.

This one is wicked good! Beautiful dark color with a hint of brick red. From the first nose to the last swallow, it evolves with air to reveal its complex balance. The cedar box is evident but does not overpower. At the end, I was surprised to discover a hint of cloves.
