Biography:
I developed a deep love for wine after living in Europe for 3 years. While doing some exploring across the pond I spent a lot of time in Spain, Italy and France. Since then I have not stopped working on my wine tasting skills and I do not plan to stop until I get a book published. So, as you can see I love my wine. On that point, I enjoy reading what other aficionados have to say about our favorite drink. Wine.com has given us a great platform to exchange ideas, so let us enjoy the beauty of sitting around with our friends and toasting to a great glass of wine. Salud!
What I like about wine:

You can never get bored of wine. Your favorite wine changes constantly from year to year and it always keeps you on your toes. It is a great conversation piece and hey, we can always use the 'excuse' that it is good for our health.

Tasty, but nothing special about it. Make sure not to open this bottle until late 2009/early 2010. Even after decantering for 1.5 hours it still was not what it could be with a bit more keeping. This wine has a nice plush deep ruby color and a taste that accompanies it. I tasted blackberry, chocolate, rhubarb and black cherry. On the nose I smelled cinammon a nice starchy smell to it like loaf bread. I liked it, but definately keep it for a while longer as you will not be able to enjoy it to the fullest otherwise.

Just lush in general. This Shiraz would definately benefit from an additional 2-3 years of cellaring. After first taste I let it decanter for a little over an hour. Make sure you do the same as the wine completely opens up. On the nose I got some oak, clove and black cherry. On the palette it tasted mostly of plum and had such a nice jammy texture. Legs were pretty firm. I have got to say I just loved this wine. Get yourself a bottle. PS. Don't buy on a date. Definately stains your teeth!

This was a tough one. I orginally bought this wine because I love the Alsace region and wanted to try a regional blend. The reason why I gave it a 3 star rating is because it still needs another year of aging and therefore was a bit young. I let the bottle decanter for 15-20 minutes and it balanced out very nicely. It has a lovely golden tint to it and smells of pears and apple cider. On the palette it is relatively sweet and has a slight acidic touch on the back. The taste is also very peary and of white grape juice. This wine is a blend Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat and Sylvaner grapes. Hence the name "Gentil" which is a a local word used to describe a blend of the local noble grapes. If you enjoy a sweet, yet tangy wine then this bottle is for you.

Carbonellous, Don't be so surprised about good Oregon Pinots! They have been perfecting the wine in the hidden little corner of the world for some time. Try the King Estate or the ERATH, and if you can get it, a Pinot from Sokol Blosser. If you haven't to
