Writer, Photographer, Mathematician (Actuary). My photography can be seen at www.sealifepix.com. My new book just came out on Living to 100 and Beyond (http://www.amazon.com/Living-100-Beyond-Timothy-Harris/dp/1566986990/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1245082370&sr=8-1) which is based on the international seminar on the same topic that I chaired in Orlando in January, 2008. My actuarial research has found two things that have been proven to extend life without genetic manipulation. They are caloric restriction (almost but not quite starving yourself to death) and resveratrol, a chemical found in red wine. Given the two options, I selected the resveratrol route. Hence, my passion for red wines. In addition to the fact that I prefer red wines. Pinot Noir's have been shown to have the highest concentrations of resveratrol and among that variety, grapes grown in cooler damp climates have the most due to the higher level needed to fight fungi.
