Big & Bold
Pork > Sausage, Pasta > Tomato-base
Outstanding value at $12.99. Paired with a red wine salami and gruyere cheese as a starter and fusilli pasta topped with a red wine tomato sauce with spice pork sausage and beef as a main. The red wine salami and cheese really complimented this wine well and vice versa. The pasta couldn't have worked better with this wine. Robust deep, dark berries with pepper and spice on the nose. Very welcoming after opening up a bit. Complexity, character, and a brashness that I love about Zinfandel yet still under control and not chaotic in the finish that can accompany some Zins that just want to be bold for the sake of being bold. Another Kunde Estate Zin and another experience I'm happy to relive while writing this review. This bottle, when allowing to open up and paired correctly, will not disappoint and so far neither have any of the Kunde bottles I've bought.
I'd like to start by saying I tend to prefer reds to whites and therefore I'm extremely selective in which whites I enjoy. That being said, I found this Riesling unimpressive. It was heavier and had a fullness/thickness to it that seemed unique but didn't wow me. Also, noticed more traces of alcohol on the finish than I'm accustomed to with a Riesling. I tend to like something a bit more fresh, light, crisp, and clean on the finish in my Rieslings. For example, I profoundly preferred the Firestone Riesling 2010 to this bottle.

High quality at this price point. Big, rich, and juicy to the nose after a swirl. Fruitful flavors of raspberry and plum with a hint of pepper and spice on an unparalleled and mesmerizingly smooth finish. Didn't notice any hints of chocolate as I've read others mentions, but it wasn't missed. Paired this very well with a blackened pepper pan seared ahi tuna. Complimented the dish divinely.
