I'm of the Oz Smith school of wine: You should never have to spend more than $15 on a good bottle of wine (he actually says $10, but I'm adjusting for inflation). I'm fairly new to wine, getting serious in only the last 5 years, but I'm pretty studious about it and enjoy discovering new bargains.
Like humans, wines are always unique -- even the same ones over time are unique each year, just as we are different each year. I enjoy sharing wine with my wife and friends over conversation-enhancing music. Life is good.
