    Sold Out
    2011 vintage available for $28.99
Very bold but smooth wine, not fruit-centric like most of what I like. Lots of tobacco/ smoky wood and sweet herbs. Hints of black cherry. Interesting, but not a style I would drink often.
  • Bogle Old Vines Zinfandel 2010
    Sold Out

Fairly tasty. Bold cracked pepper, spicy oak, and a touch of berry.
  • Antinori Villa Toscana 2008

    2011 vintage available for $21.99
3.5. Dark and rich, with black cherry/berry aromas. On the palate black cherries, tobacco smoke and a touch of tar. Very smooth for all its boldness with a nice long gentle finish. Picks up lots of spicy licorice w/ pizza. Drunk May 2013.
  • Michael David Winery 7 Deadly Zins Zinfandel 2010
    Sold Out

My experience of this Lodi wine & others: too bacony/saccharine.

  • Pacific Rim Dry Riesling 2011

  • Robert Mondavi Napa Merlot 2009

Like the label says, ripe plum and blackberry with bay leaf. Not for me, but might be nice to sip with sausage gumbo.
  • Henry Fessy Morgon 2010
    $17.99
2.5-3. Ok, touch bitter. Still an interesting departure from the usual, but won't buy again.
  • Frescobaldi Castiglioni Chianti 2011

BAD review fairly accurate. Pretty bad.

Like lightly sweetened sour grape juice, period. Better if not aerated but definitely not for me. PS. even better slightly chilled, but still.
  • Sauvion Chinon 2011
    Sold Out
    $15.99
    Vinegary, tannic and weird.
  • Sierra Norte Pasion de Bobal 2009
    Sold Out
    $14.99
My bottle did not have any nose at first. Even after aeration, it took a couple min.to open up. Candied berries on the nose then palate, followed by nice smoke, then exotic spices and camphor. Camphor is not for me. A bit tastier when slightly chilled, but just ok.
  • Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc 2011
    Sold Out
    2013 vintage available for $17.99
Light, smooth and refreshing. Tropical fruit and minerals. None of the leafy "nettles" I like so much, but none of the "melon" flavor I detest either.
  • Layer Cake Primitivo 2007
    Sold Out
    2011 vintage available for $13.99
    • red wine
    • screw cap wine
    • RP89
Inky and jammy black cherry and plum. White pepper on roof of mouth. The same smoky saltiness and sweetness that makes me think bacon and saccharine on Lodi Zins. Interesting, but ultimately a no go.
  • Andrew Murray Syrah Tous les Jours 2011
    Sold Out
    $15.99
Jammy black cherry/ raspberry, low tannins. Lots of white pepper, touch of earth. Not bad, but for this degree of sweetness & richness, need more tar or spice. Picks up a little licorice slightly chilled the next day, which is better.
  • Tikal Patriota 2010
    Sold Out
    2012 vintage available for $19.99
2.5. Similar to review. A bit much for me.

ok - very light stemmy cherry with slight hint of tar/meatiness.
  • Argiolas Perdera 2009
    Sold Out
    2010 vintage available for $16.99
Sweet, round and brambly, like many Italian reds. Hint of tobacco/smoke, fruit flavors well-integrated. Ok
  • Chateau d'Esclans Whispering Angel Rose 2011
    Sold Out
    2013 vintage available for $21.99
Super bright acidity of course means bitterness, but I thought I'd try. It was too much for me. Apart from that, it truly was nice minerality and very delicate fruit and floral.
  • Falesco Assisi Rosso 2009
    $15.99
so-so, but I've concluded Italian wines are not my thing.
  • Hesketh Usual Suspects Shiraz 2008
    Sold Out
    $20.00
Review pretty good - I would say fairly light, but with a velvety softness and flavors that artfully combine sour plum, cracked pepper, rare beef and chocolate. BUT with a little air, there is a slight fishy funk that's no good. I think it is just an unfortunate combo of slight tarriness and the sour plum, but too bad, I would have really liked this.
  • Barnard Griffin Riesling 2012
    $10.99
As described. The alongside floral, etc makes it super interesting to me, but not hugely enjoyable. Apertif only for me, I think. Nice though.
  • Louis Latour Domaine de Valmoissine Pinot Noir 2010
    Sold Out
    2011 vintage available for $14.99
Cherry and spice with a touch of dried flowers. A little game detected after a few hours open. Ok.

    2013 vintage available for $14.99
