I haven't found anyone, wine drinker or not, who doesn't love this wine. This is what every red wine wants to grow up to be.

...and 97% of the populus would not be able to do more than guess which was which in a blind taste test! Of course, "gansta rappers" with gold chains on MTV don't allude to it's status of having enough "benjamins" to waste on it so... yeah. What can one say except; it IS dry, it does NOT go well with your thanksgiving meal (unless you don't want to taste the wine much at all), and Mimosa's, while yummy, do not constitute "tasting" this terrific sparkler. It is simply an AMAZING value, and THEE answer to saving a bundle on your wedding reception (or any gala event), while still serving a GREAT sparkling wine. Personally I prefer Krug to Cristal anyday for a $250 Champagne (that someone else is paying for), Perrier Jouët NV (if I'm OKay with $30 for the impression made with a "true" Champagne) and the Segura Viudas Heredad Cava NV (also from Espain) for a best value (@$15) but at $5.99 (Cost Plus World Market)! WoW! How can they do it!? Gracias España!

One of the best price/value wines of 2008. The proof is in the difficulty of finding and purchasing this wine. At $10 a bottle, which I found several months ago, to the current (if you can even get it) $20+ price, this remains an excellent value, considering the drinkability, deep color, and fine food match-ups. Price/Value for 2008....it doesn't get better than this. I use Cellar Tracked for my inventory and reviews, and was dismayed by all the snobs who carefully found miniscule issues with this wine. Good grief, these folk need to get a life, and a new tasting tongue! Keep it coming Ruah!

I picked a couple of bottles of the '02 at a discount price, not expecting anything more than something to serve to random guests-only to find that this wasn't some front shelf BS. What struck me first was that I wouldn't have guessed it a Merlot. It has a smooth, yet every so slightly acidic character reminiscent of many of the Italian wines I so love. On the dry side of things, but something anyone can appreciate without being a snob. Personally, i'd rate it at a $10-$15 a bottle range.
