This wine looks a bit over-filtered and is so clear you can read through it (1 of 2). The bouquet is also nothing to write home about, promising nothting special, but sending no warning flags either (2 of 4). Fortunately, this wine tastes much better than it looks and smells. A pleasant if uncomplicated taste rests lightly on the pallet, making pleasant drinking on it's own (6 of 10). Overall, this wine is okay for the price, but it may be to subtle for most food parings (2 of 4). I like this wine for under $20, but I wouldn't age it nor would I serve it with food more substantial than an appetizer platter. TOTAL (11 of 20)

This is my second red wine. So far I am not a big red wine fan. They are all to dry and not quite fruit forward enough for me. Even though this is called a "fruit bomb". The description is way more drastic than the actual flavor. I would not describe it as a "fruit bomb" but more like a red wine that isn't so dry as to feel like you are drinking cotton swabs. Which IMO most reds are that dry. I know people worship reds. But my beginners palate does not appreciate them yet. This is no exception. I thought it would be way more fruit forward than it was since it was a "fruit bomb". Bzzzt wrong! BTW, "fruit bomb" is a dumb moniker and does not describe the fruitiness of the wine at all. Right out of bottle you get the typical nose for reds, dark fruit, cherries, raspberry jam, a hint of vanilla, plenty of spice. On the palate, you do get tastes of fruit jam but not overwhelming like people suggest. Also black current, blackberries, black cherry, boysenberry, dark fruits come to mind on the palate. Perhaps a very, very, subtle hint of tartness. Like perhaps from black cherries? Barely noticeable unless you close your eyes and think about it. Overall, while my unrefined palate is not a fan of reds, yet, this Malbec is very nice. It's not super dry like most reds and it isn't a super sweet fruit bomb like some suggest. It's a nice well balanced red that I would recommend to anyone, who like me is not a fan of reds, it is very palatable and enjoyable. I do recommend letting it breathe for 20-30 minutes at least. It opens up nicely over time.

This wine was ok- but it didn't stand out as a plus 90 point wine. It was fruity and very light- almost thin. The word watery comes to mind, but I hesitate to use it- because it wasn't weak or flavorless, it was just so light as to be thin. This particular wine just doesn't

This looked like a bargain Pinot. I was ordering with the 1-cent shipping, so added it to my order. It was not only not a good Pinot, it was not a good wine, almost undrinkable. It may have been corked, but I don't think so. Even my wife, who drinks Charles Shaw as a daily red, couldn't drink it. Don't even bother, unless you want to use it for cooking.

There was too much acid in this wine for my taste. I like mellower reds.
