What a lovely wine this is. Every time is a pleasant surprise. It is one of my new favorite reds. The bite is smooth and complimentary to most foods. The salt of prosciutto, olives, fondue with cornichons- all examples of how well this wine brings out the flavors of great foods.

Numanthia has never dissapointed me. The 2005 is a full bodied red with strong but balanced and round tannins. It is very smooth and has a long finish with multiple layers. One of the best from the Toro region and the whole of Spain. It is in the category of the Bordeaux 1 st crus at a fraction of their price. It is unfined and not filtered. A really good collectible wine. Enjoy it!

This wine was excellent! My wife & I were surprised by the excellent nose & the taste surpassed the nose. We enjoy a wine that presents both fruit & pepper, and this one really delivered. We bought it in CA before we moved, so we are trying to get the local wine store to find us a case.

I've always enjoyed Clos Du Bois reds in the last 11 years. This one while not world class, is one to please everyone at the table. It should first hit you with some leather and of course all of the nice berry, yet you should see that all of the nice ripe red fruit will tag along right with the leather. And myself, I like that. While the winemaker says that it's "velvety", well... Ok. Yeah it is, just a little bit. I will credit them for that term but it's overused this time. Not a big deal really, it IS in fact velvety, just in the minor leagues. And that's probably best for a table wine for everyone.

When I first tasted this wine I was expecting something ordinaire as the price was in that scary wheel house of the non descript. This Merlot is very expressive with blueberry and cherry on the nose, there is a sweet nuance of Vanilla that is laced through the fruit, very nice! The flavors are full but not sharp and bighting like a Napa Cab, this wine leaves your move salivating for another sip.
