Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

100% Torrontes from the Cafayate vineyards. The handpicked grapes were fermented with selected yeast and fine lees for six months.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2011 Zuccardi Serie A Torrontes from Cafayate in Salta, is 50% direct pressed and sees no oak. It has a fresh grapefruit, nectarine and passion fruit bouquet that is crisp and well-defined. The palate is vibrant on the entry, with a keen thread of acidity and great focus and poise on the white peach-tinged finish. This is one of the best Torrontes wines I have found. Drink now. "
