Winemaker's Notes

With a label inspired by the psychedelic rock posters of the 1960s, Zinfandelic captures the spirit of Zinfandel, California's quintessential wine. The organically farmed old vine vineyards are located in Sierra Foothills, a region renowned for being home to some of the oldest Zinfandel vines in the world. The high altitude vineyards and sandy clay loam soils yield a bold Old Vine Zinfandel, with rich, bright raspberry and black cherry fruit complemented by hints of spice and sweet oak that add to its complexity. The fresh fruit characteristics are balanced by lively acidity, hallmarks of the Sierra Foothills.

Zinfandelic's Sierra Foothills Old Vine Zinfandel wine makes an excellent food pairing choice for anything hot off the grill, such as grilled tri-tip steak. Or enjoy with barbeque ribs, meaty pasta dishes or pizza.

By far, my favorite Old Vine Zin! Lots of blackberry and raspberry flavors with a hint of spice. It's a very versatile, smooth wine and I absolutely love the label! It really is the quintessential California wine.

1 hour decant. Was a bit tight before decant but afterwards opened up to beautiful nose, spicy, fruity and herbal. Enjoyed with beef stew, drank really well, nice balance. Boy is it good: smooth, rich, ripe. Hard to resist the extra glass!

PnP – easy to like, not overly jammy. It smells like blackberries,cherries. Medium to full body, this is the kind of Zin I like.
