Intense violet robe. Aromas of plums and ripe blackberry. Each sip delivers a mouthful of ripe berries, leather and black pepper with subtle hints of oregano, dried herbs, and a touch of vanilla; all leading to a dry, supple finish.

Assertive, full-flavored "country style" cooking such as: Venison or rabbit stew; Ossobuco; Roast leg of lamb; Spaghetti puttanesca; Pasta with sausage, pepper and onions; Roast duck with green peppercorn sauce.

Nothing like it's 07 brother - this was sour - threw out the second bottle - the 07 is wonderful, the 08 (bought at a big box store) not so much...

This came recommended from a friend. I was pleasantly surprised, plenty of fruit and depth- very smooth - excellent value. I enjoyed every sip. (I might have been a bit jaded as I shared this wine with a beautiful woman)
