Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This wine is bright ruby in color. The nose shows notes of red cherry with a underlying savory touch. The palate is supple yet juicy with ripe fruit and soft tannins on the finish.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2009 Yealands Estate Pinot Noir has a medium ruby color and classic red cherry, forest floor, truffle and lavender aromas. Medium bodied and well structured with high acid and a medium level of fine grained tannins, it finishes long and graceful. Drink it now to 2015."
