Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

The immediate illusion of sweetness and confection of blackberry fruit is entwined with dark chicory and juniper tannins and the faintest whiff of harness leather. The primary fruit character begins to prickle like summer with smells of rain on hot sunbaked sandstone.
"Berry sorting, 12% whole bunches, pre-fermentation cold soak and some carbonic maceration, wild yeast fermented, and kept on lees in French oak (20% new) for over 12 months has produced the best shiraz yet from Yangarra (other than Small Pot). Medium- to full-bodied, it has multiple layers of juicy black fruits, plus touches of licorice and dark chocolate supported by ripe tannins on the long finish."
Australian Wine Companion
"Deep, smooth and juicy with rich blackberry and cassis; bright, tangy and nicely structured; seamless, intense and nicely balanced; long and stylish."
"Saturated ruby. Pungent, spice- and smoke-accented aromas of blackcurrant, cherry pit and pipe tobacco, with a peppery topnote adding vivacity. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. Finishes spicy and long, with fine-grained tannins and a jolt of cracked pepper."
