Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Pale straw green in color, the 2011 Yalumba Y Series Unwooded Chardonnay offers enticing aromas of white peach, grapefruit and nougat – a complex interplay showing balance between ripe fruit and complexity from lees aging. The palate is distinctly medium-bodied with layers of white peach and nougat flavors, racy acidity and a persistent finish.

Chardonnay like this should be enjoyed with tempura vegetables.

Critical Acclaim

"Fresh and open-textured, as hints of peach and diesel add to the pear and citrus flavors. Drink now. 8,000 cases imported."

Great. I love the Chards without the wood, the true taste of the grape comes through. I love these wines and Savignon Blanc's for the summer.
