The Y Series Shiraz Viognier showcases the excellent varietal characters of
these two grape varieties, co-fermented capturing their synergy. On the nose
initial aromas of violets and sweet berry fruits are meshed with the subtle
fragrance of apricot and musk. The palate is fresh with black currant and licorice. Berry-rich mid-palate fruits with a soft even texture and fine tannin finish.
"This is ripe and expressive, with a purity and clarity to the blueberry, plum and white pepper that lets the flavors sail on, lingering beautifully against super fine tannins. Drink now through 2015." 91 Points
Medium bodied red. Nice spice. Not a 90 as JH has rated more of an 88-89. But for the below $11 price. Pick up a case.
I didn't like this wine and would not order it again. I had tried the 2005 vintage which was great, the 2006 is not.
