Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A watermelon pink, the Yalumba Sangiovese Rosé has a delicate and fragrant nose highlighted by watermelon and cherry blossom with hints of lavender and cinnamon - typical of this exotic variety. The wine is a light bodied, dry style of Rosé with flavors of watermelon, pomegranate and lavender. The finish to the wine is dry and refreshing with crisp acidity.

Critical Acclaim

"While dry, has more mouthfeel and fruit weight than many of its peers; cherry and berry flavours are neatly balanced by acidity, the profile assisted by the moderate alcohol. "

Delicious, suufficiently fruity to enjoy with light appetizers; but bold enough to accompany a new york steak.
